The Green-e Energy certification assures consumers and businesses in the US and Canada that they are reducing the environmental impact of their electricity use.
Green-e Energy was established in 1997 in order to provide consumer protection in the emerging and unregulated voluntary renewable energy market through clear guidelines, disclosures, and standards.
Green-e Energy is a rigorous consumer protection program for renewable energy with a transparent standard and hundreds of stakeholders participating in setting and revising that standard. The non-profit Center for Resource Solutions administers the program.
